COURSE OVERVIEW
Offered by Groundwork Trauma Education, this advanced training is designed for clinicians who are already trained in Brainspotting and want to deepen their clinical skill, attunement, and confidence in using the model with trauma clients. Rather than focusing on basic Brainspotting concepts, this course emphasizes how Brainspotting unfolds moment by moment in the therapy room and how to work more skillfully with activation, dissociation, and complex presentations.
Participants will explore how to track the nervous system during Brainspotting sessions, how to stay attuned to subtle cues, and how to respond when sessions deepen, stall, or intensify. The training emphasizes therapist presence, pacing, and ethical clinical judgment, supporting therapists in offering Brainspotting with clarity, steadiness, and depth.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
• Deepening attunement during Brainspotting sessions
• Tracking nervous system activation and regulation in real time
• Working with activation, shutdown, and dissociation during Brainspotting
• Recognizing when to hold, when to intervene, and when to shift
• Supporting parts, protectors, and internal dynamics within Brainspotting
• Pacing and titration to prevent overwhelm and flooding
• Navigating common challenges such as stuck spots or unclear directionality
• Ethical considerations and scope of practice in trauma focused Brainspotting
• Supporting integration and stabilization after Brainspotting sessions
