Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS A TRAUMA THERAPY INTENSIVE?
A trauma therapy intensive is a focused, extended-format therapy session designed to help clients deeply process trauma in a shorter amount of time. Unlike weekly sessions, intensives offer uninterrupted time to regulate the nervous system, access deeper healing, and create lasting change. This approach is ideal for individuals who have plateaued in traditional talk therapy or want to address longstanding trauma more efficiently.
HOW IS A TRAUMA THERAPY INTENSIVE DIFFERENT FROM TRADITIONAL THERAPY?
Traditional therapy typically follows a weekly 50-minute format. In contrast, trauma intensives offer half-day, full-day, or multi-day sessions, allowing for a deeper dive into therapeutic work. They combine somatic approaches, EMDR, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) to target trauma stored in the nervous system.
DO I NEED TO STOP SEEING MY PRIMARY THERAPIST TO DO INTENSIVE TRAUMA THERAPY?
Not at all! Many clients who attend trauma therapy intensives continue to work with their primary therapist. This model is designed to complement ongoing therapy by helping you work through deeper layers of trauma or stuck points in your healing.
WHAT TOPICS DO YOU COVER IN SUPERVISION AND CONSULTATION?
I offer clinical supervision and case consultation for therapists working toward licensure or wanting to deepen their trauma-informed practice. Topics often include trauma processing, dissociation, somatic work, Brainspotting, KAP, IFS, ethical practices, and navigating complex clinical presentations.
WHAT SUPPORT DO YOU OFFER FOR THERAPISTS STARTING OR GROWING A PRIVATE OF GROUP PRACTICE?
Through my business coaching for therapists, I offer practical guidance on starting and scaling private or group practices. This includes strategic planning, systems setup, hiring your first clinician, form templates, marketing support, and one-on-one mentorship to help you grow with clarity and confidence.
CAN I HIRE YOU AS A SPEAKER OR PODCAST GUEST?
Yes! I’m available for podcast interviews, workshops, and speaking engagements on trauma therapy, Brainspotting, Ketamine-Assisted Therapy, and mental health. With 15+ years of experience and a passion for education, I’ve guest lectured at universities and led clinical trainings and retreats for practitioners.
